The bees are talking

Recently a huge swarm of bees landed at my dad's house. They hung out for a few days before he called Shultz bee removal to ask what to do. Shultz said the bees landed there to talk about where to put their bee hive and that they would leave in a few days. That didn't happen, so Shultz came out to remove them and place them elsewhere. It was very quick and harmless to the bees. But of course before they came, being the weird bug lover that I am I had to get in there and get some pictures of this very cool sight.

Oh yeah and being the fun sister that I am I had to embarrass him, so I bought his friends and our family silly string to cover him in. Hee, hee, it was great!

Finishing Grandma's project

I found these in a garage sale pile that was going out after our grandmother was put into a nursing home.
I thought the fabric was so cool, so I saved them to someday finish. That was only a few years back, he, he.
Well one of them has now been finished, by my friend at Shooting Starz Home Decor, yeah and I love it! The fabric is a linen with wool crewel embroidery and you can find vintage crewel for about $80 a yard. Holy cow!
I love finding treasures like these.

Surprise Stimulus

Today I was taking pictures of an item I was going to put up in my etsy shop, when I found a little surprise inside.

A small envelope fell out. I felt the envelope and thought it feels like money, no way can it be money, well it sure was money. Not a whole lot of money, but it definitely put a smile on my face.
Thanks to the little old lady who forgot where she put her stash.

In the spirit of pay it forward I am sending the person who buys the suitcase some of this fun surprise.

Snowboarding

We finally got Jaden up to the mountains, so she could learn to snowboard. She has been dreading this day for a while now. She cried the whole morning before the lesson, because she didn't like how she looked in snow pants, and she was afraid to go snowboarding.
We put her in a half day class. When we went to get her after it was over she asked if she could stay all day. So she did. She loved it so much that the next morning she asked if she could take the class again. So she did. She obviously still needs a lot of practice, but it's cool to see her so proud of herself, and to see her love something she thought she was going to hate.

Vintage find

This just might be my favorite vintage find so far. I did put it in my Etsy shop, but if I need to make a cake soon, it will be mine.
